St Brigid’s NS has always had a proud history of having ‘Green Fingers” and this year has been no different. Over the past couple of weeks, a number of classes have been enjoying outdoor learning in relation to plants, animals and habitats on our school grounds and our local area. Thankfully, due to the hard work of Ms O Reilly and many other teachers over the years, there is an abundance of wild and potted plants and flowers within a couple of feet from our classroom doors.
6th class have been busy preparing our new beds for sowing potatoes, identifying flowers around the school as well as sketching still life drawings of these plants.
5th class walked the canal into town to observe the plants and animals and were delighted to see a duck and her chicks.
